Physiological responses and productivity of the seaweed Ulva ohnoi (Chlorophyta) under changing cultivation conditions in pilot large land-based ponds

چکیده
Land based intensive cultivation systems have been proposed as an ideal option for the commercial production of high value products from seaweeds. However, many cultures on Ulva and other seaweeds are relatively small-scale facilities. The variability culture conditions can strongly affect physiological performance seaweeds, but few studies examine their phenotypic plasticity by integrating critical biological descriptors, e.g. photobiology, oxidative stress, nutrient acquisition. purpose this study was to determine growth ohnoi during its in land-based 40 m3 ponds. Through entire cycle (four-weeks), photosynthesis, respiration, pigments, antioxidant capacity content were measured. Light, temperature, pH, dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) simultaneously monitored seawater. Additionally, N-uptake kinetics U. examined laboratory order explain efficiency seaweed biomass DIN-incorporation ponds after fertilization. Generally, gradual increase density throughout period directly associated a drop light availability carbon (i.e. higher pH) within These changes related reduction photosynthetic capacities, ohnoi. behavior DIN fertilization, indicated that able incorporate ammonium more efficiently than nitrate, presence former likely inhibits nitrate understanding acclimate extreme changing conditions, could be applied improve productivity chemical composition.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Physiological Responses of Some Rootstocks and Interspecific Hybrids of Pistachio to Cold Stress under Greenhouse Conditions
Cold is an environmental factor limiting the growth and yield of agricultural crops. To find cold-tolerant pistachio rootstocks, a factorial experiment was conducted at Pistachio Research Center (PRC), Rafsanjan, Iran during 2017-2018. The factors included six rootstocks (Badami Zarand, Ghazvini, Sarakhs, Integerrima × Badami Zarand, Integerrima × Ghazvini and Integerrima × Sarakhs) and four th...

Irrigation is an inevitable part of agriculture which determines crop yield and thus food security. In modern era of agriculture, crop yield is determined on the basis of crop production per unit of water-use instead of crop production per land unit area. Deficit irrigation is introduced as a strategy for controlling water resources that leads to water resource preservation. Date palm requires...
